Lift Station Repair

Lift stations are a necessary part of any septic or onsite wastewater treatment system that resides in an area where the gradient (or slope) doesn’t allow for a natural downhill flow of sewage and waste.  Because Florida is mostly flat, we need lift stations to handle our high water table as many systems are above ground. Your septic should be getting pumped out every 3-5 years depending on the age of the system and the number of occupants in the home. Read our blog to learn more about this time frame. Pumping out your septic tank regularly will prevent heavy build up in the tank, which can cause a need to repair drain field damage.

How does it work?

If you have a lift station as part of your septic system, the sewage from your home or building is discharged into a dosing tank.  Once the dosing tank fills up to a certain level, it engages a float switch that recognizes that the tank is full and will pump the sewage out to its next destination in your system through a pressurized line.  They are relatively simple systems, but they must be maintained properly in order to keep working efficiently.
